An ardent sailor and a techie, Anish Wankhede has voyaged on a number of ships as a marine engineering officer. He loves multitasking, networking, and troubleshooting.

Team Manager

Mohit Kaushik is a marine engineer sailing with Maersk Shipping. Apart from managing the team and writing for Marine Insight, he also runs a logistics company.

Webmaster

A Computer Engineer by profession, Swapna handles the web development and designing at Marine Insight. Coming from a family of merchant mariners, she understands what it takes to be a seafarer

Mohit Sanguri

Chief Engineer Mohit Sanguri is a Marine Chief Engineer (Class I Unlimited Power) and has 12 years of sailing experience. He is currently working with Dynacom Tankers Ltd .on their Bulk Carriers division and has served in past with Wallems Ship Mgmt. on Car Carriers and PCTC’s, MSC Ship Mgmt. on Containers, Univan Ship Mgmt. on RoRo’s and Five Stars Shipping on Bulkers and SNP Ship Mgmt. on General Cargo at various designations.

Nihar Hedwarkar

Chief Officer

Nihar Herwadkar has been with the A.P.Moller Group since his cadetship. Presently sailing as Chief Officer with Maersk Tankers, he holds a Master’s CoC from UK. He takes active interest in geopolitics and love reading news articles and non-fiction books. Apart from playing with his 3-year-old Labrador Retriever, a good part of his holidays back home are spent playing squash and drinking scotch. He’s a member of the Nautical Institute and a proud freemason.

Pankaj Bhargava

Master Mariner

Capt.Pankaj Bhargava is a Master Mariner, now retired from active sea life and presently self employed as a businessman. He has sailed on almost all types of ships in various capacities. However, the last 18 years of his career he sailed solely on Oil/Chemical Tankers as a Master and in year 2012 retired from active sailing. He has a great penchant for writing and writes for several popular marine publications.

Mahendra Singh

Chief Engineer

Mr. Mahendra Singh is a senior marine engineer with more than 20 years of experience as chief engineer on a variety of vessels such as bulk, container and car carriers. He has also served as an engineer and ship surveyor with the Government of India. When not sailing, Mr. Mahendra Singh likes to teach at premium maritime academies.

Rajeeve Kaushik

Rajeeve is a Chief Engineer of 19 years, who kept his deadline and retired himself on the 50th birthday. With penchant for reading and writing serious literature, driving long distances; his main hobby is observing and commenting on the economy of the country. He has been helping colleagues at sea plan their finances and future for over 20 years now.Living in the rapidly diminishing Himalayas he appreciates the entire country lying between the Green Hills and the Blue Ocean.

Bikram Pal Singh – is a professional mariner and blogger. He has sailed extensively serving on various Oil tankers and Offshore Vessels. Currently a Chief Officer, he enjoys reading and compiling notes about critical shipboard operations and crew psychology. When not sailing, he loves backpacking, is an ardent adventurer and a certified diver.

Abhishek Bhanawat is a chief officer who has worked on various types of tankers. He specialises in Crude Oil and Product Tankers. He is extremely passionate about his work and loves to sail. An avid reader since childhood, he likes to write about his experiences in free time. He loves to share his views and opinions regarding his maritime profession. He also likes to teach and supports his juniors who are at the sea through mails and over phone.

Amitava Chakravarty

Marine Pilot

Amitava Chakrabarty is a Maritime Pilot at Kolkata Port Trust, a writer and a poet. He has contributed articles, travelogues, letters, stories and poems in leading newspapers and magazines in India, has penned two anthologies of poetry ( Solitude / So I Used Gray And Other Poems ) and has co-authored a children’s book – Inspirational stories for Children Vol-3.

Rishab Joshi is marine engineer with extensive experience of tanker vessels. Presently working with General Maritime Corporation (GMC), he loves reading maritime case studies and reports on trending issues. Also an amateur photographer, he doesn’t miss a chance to use his camera while at sea.

Deck Cadet

Shilavadra Bhattacharjee is a Deck Cadet who’s recently graduated and started his first sail. He is a prolific reader and also likes to record his arbitrary thoughts on paper. He’s been following Marine Insight since his days in college and was eager with his desire to contribute to the magazine. “Sheel”, as his friends call him, believes in sharing knowledge and conveying thoughts in every form possible- be it through words, music or anything else.

Nachiketh is a graduated deck cadet at Maersk line and is preparing for the second mates examination. He has sailed on container vessels plying to Asia and Europe. Apart from sailing he loves reading, writing, driving, traveling, water sports and movies.

Mr. Vikram Dileepan is a Marine engineer who sails around the world for a living. Apart from being a ship engineer, he is an English literature addict, compulsive blogger, amateur mountaineer, and a consistent traveler of offbeat destinations being his hideout of choice. Mr. S N Batra

Mr. S.N. Batra is a retired chief engineer and superintendent, who has worked with Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). As a technical superintendent he has been in-charge of all technical operations, surveys, repairs and dry-docking of ships. After serving for 45 years in the shipping industry, he has been a lecturer and visiting faculty for several maritime training institutes in India.
